Humanities ( PDHPE, Economics, Ancient + Modern History, Legal Studies, Business Studies, Studies of Religion I and II)

Our Year 12 terms are 8 weeks long, with weekly 2hr online or face-to-face classes.

How does our program benefit you?

Going through Year 11 and 12 is not easy. There are multiple academic hurdles that you will face and feel stressed over. However, at Enigma we aim to ease this stress as we believe private tutoring allows you to improve your marks in a short period of time and free up time for individual study. In addition, under the Enigma Program our Enigmas will not only improve your marks but also ensure that you are mentally prepared and ready.

Our personalised learning programs aim to boost your ranking at school and get you the best possible internal results so when you go into the HSC, you go in feeling reassured.

Lastly, we don't mean to boast but we have some of the best tutors in the state. With multiple Band 6's under their belts and currently studying in university you can feel reassured that you are in capable hands. (or should I say bands?)

Our Class Structure

Theory
Our Senior classes start with theory. Theory is delivered with the intent of covering new concepts from the subject syllabus. Theory is done first so we can ensure enough time is dedicated to understanding the topic before going onto the Question Review.

Question Review
QR comes after theory and is where new concepts are consolidated through exam style questions. Our Enigmas work through these questions with students to help clarify the theory and highlight where marks come from. Students are encouraged to bring in any school assessments or work they need feedback or assistance for.

Exam Program

Regular Calls

~10 mins - recapping on the week: workload, planning out how to manage student responsibilities, positives, negatives. How to improve performance. What obstacles were in the way of being the best you can be.
~35 mins - going through subject specific questions they have, running through past papers or revising a draft (for English, Science, History,etc) together
~15mins - discussing study strategies, making goals and tackling recurring problems (e.g. procrastination or motivation) with the use of scientifically approved techniques.

Draft Revision Calls

~30mins - run through a drafts with an Enigma to get on the spot feedback for better understanding on areas of improvement and what to do to get guaranteed marks.

Study Skills Calls

~30 mins - tackling a specific study issue (selected from a list: time management, procrastination, motivation, stress,...) with the use of scientifically proven strategies. Goal setting will be of primary concern to ensure issues are addressed and students reach their goals. These types of calls will be repeated weekly until student feels confident that it has been addressed fully.

Subject Question Calls

Working through exam-style questions concerning specific subjects (e.g. practice papers or textbook questions - worked solutions). This preparation will address the allocation of marks and how to approach certain questions.

Marking

Students are encouraged to submit pieces of work to their Enigmas so quality can be ensured through comprehensive feedback on drafts, including rewording and sample sentences. ($30/1000 words)
